Aina Romaguera is a biomedical scientist with a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine. She works as a research technician in the “Descriptive Epidemiology, Genetics, and Cancer Prevention” group at the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute (IJC), affiliated with the Catalan Institute of Oncology. She provides statistical support and contributes to research projects, conference presentations, scientific articles, and technical documents. Her line of research focuses on the epidemiology of mature B-cell neoplasms. She holds a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and received additional training at Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, and an exchange program at the University of Dundee (Scotland). She also completed a hospital internship in the molecular pathology department at Parc Taulí University Hospital (Sabadell), where she participated in tumor diagnoses. During her Master’s studies, she completed a research internship at the Girona Epidemiology and Cancer Registry Unit. There, she participated in the HematoREDECAN project, a nationwide initiative within the Spanish Network of Cancer Registries that studies the epidemiology of hematological malignancies in the country. She has presented multiple communications at national and international conferences and is pursuing her doctoral thesis on this topic. This year, she presented a poster in the Group for Cancer Epidemiology and Registration in Latin Language Countries congress about the incidence of large B-cell lymphoma using an Age-Period-Cohort approach, which forms the basis of her submission to the Enrico Anglesio Prize.
