Emiko Oka is a physician and specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. She is currently a graduate student supervised by Dr. Yutaka Ueda (Osaka University) and Dr. Yuri Ito (Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University), working on survival analysis and regional inequalities in gynecological cancer using cancer registry data. She received JSOG Congress Encouragement Award at the 75th Annual Congress of Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology for her presentation on trend of treatment proportion and outcome for cervical cancer in May 2023. She is eager to change a difficult situation in Japan, low HPV vaccination coverage and low uptake of screening.
