Elisa hold a Bachelor of Science in Physics at the University of Turin (2002), a Master’s Degree in Biostatistics and Experimental Statistics at the University of Milano Bicocca (2007), and an Executive PhD in Converging Technologies for Biomolecular Systems at the University of Milano Bicocca (2025).
Her carreer spanned several topics, including cancer epidemiology, translational cancer research and interventional studies. Particularly, she started her research experience working on projects related to childhood cancer epidemiology at the Childhood Cancer Registry of Piedmont (2003-2008). Later, she gained experience on handling statistics of clinical trials for medical devices (Sorin Biomedica Cardio, 2008-2012), and then she focused on complex analytical methods for biomarkers identification and risk-stratification on cancer precision medicine (European Institute of Oncology and IFOM, 2012-2016; IRCCS Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza, 2016-2025). Currently, she expanded her research interest following interventional studies on Multiple Myeloma (European Myeloma Network).
She was involved in different working groups contributing to funded grants on cancer translational research, she co-authored several publications on peer-reviewed journals, contributed to different national and international congress presentations, served as ad-hoc referee for international journals, and she is co-inventor of two international patents on cancer biomarkers. She was also member of several associations including the Statistical Modelling Society, the Italian Cancer Society, and the European Association for Cancer Research. ORCID 0000-0001-6918-6577
