I was born in 1985 and received my first degree in genetics in the University of Tartu. After receiving my masters degree in genetics I continued my PhD studies in molecular biology but soon realised the need to change my field. I entered the public health programme of the University of Tartu, where I earned a masters degree in epidemiology in 2015 and having found a topic close to my heart, re-entered PhD studies. During my studies I started working in the National Institute for Health Development, where I currently work as a researcher in the department of epidemiology and biostatistics. My main research topic and also the topic of my thesis is childhood and AYA cancer.
