I am a dentist, currently pursuing a doctoral degree in public health at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. My professional journey has been split between clinical practice and research. I have had a longstanding interest in epidemiological and public health research, particularly when it comes to cancer patients, with a specific focus on psychosocial aspects such as quality of life and the issue of loneliness. Loneliness is of particular significance to me because in Colombia, individuals diagnosed with cancer encounter numerous hurdles when it comes to accessing their right to healthcare. This situation results in marked disparities. Furthermore, following a cancer diagnosis, various facets of their lives undergo significant changes. The interplay of these factors leads to the onset of undesired loneliness, which adversely affects the health of this population. These subjects have consistently held a special place in my heart, both on a personal and professional level. I am someone who thrives on working with numbers, statistics, and the intricacies of the research process, all while maintaining a deep commitment to community service. At present, my work revolves around diverse research activities, including the systematic review of literature, the design of epidemiological and public health studies, article composition, and manuscript submission, among others. I am also deeply passionate about acquiring new knowledge and collaborating within interdisciplinary teams, particularly in the realm of cancer studies. I am deeply committed to achieving results and upholding rigorous ethical standards. My skill set encompasses effective social communication, adaptability to new environments, analytical thinking across a range of situations, and a proactive, self-reflective, and innovative approach.
