- Biosketch:
Luisa Lopes-Conceição has a MSc in Veterinary Medicine (University of Porto, Portugal, 2009) and a PhD in Public Health (University of Porto, Portugal, 2020). She is currently a Junior Researcher in the Epidemiology, Outcomes, Economics and Management in Oncology Group of Research Centre of Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto (CI-IPOP). She has experience with healthcare data collection, management and analysis, and applying data science to real-world data, including medical records and patient-reported outcomes. She has also experience with the design and implementation of research studies, with special focus on epidemiology, outcomes research, management and health economics in the fields of oncology, other non-communicable diseases and One Health. She has participated in many multidisciplinary, national and international collaborations, including in the European Oncology Evidence Network (E-OEN) and in the DIGital Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research (DIGICORE). In addition, she is member of the research team of three projects funded by the European Union\'s Horizon Europe, namely as a co-leader of one work package – ‘ONCOVALUE: Implementing value-based oncology care at European cancer hospitals: An AI-based framework for assessing real-life effectiveness of novel cancer therapies in real-time’ –, as local study coordinator – ‘EUonQOL: Quality of Life in Oncology: measuring what matters for cancer patients and survivors in Europe’ – or as team member – ‘PAINLESS: Pain relief in palliative care of cancer using home-based neuromodulation and predictive biomarkers’ –. She is also Principal Investigator of a national funded project entitled ‘The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the diagnosis, treatment and survival of patients with cancer’ and also of non-funded projects.
