Maja Jurtela, MD, is currently a PhD candidate in Biostatistics and a junior researcher at the Cancer Registry of Republic of Slovenia, Institute of Oncology Ljubljana. She earned her MD at the University of Ljubljana in 2017. In 2020, she earned her MSc in Statistics for Health Sciences at the University of Montpellier, France. At the Slovenian Cancer Registry, she is involved in upgrading the methodology for collecting and processing epidemiological oncology data. Working under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Vesna Zadnik and Prof. Dr. Lara Lusa, her doctoral thesis revolves around initial data analysis in cancer registry data.
